Broemmelsiek Park In keeping with the county’s mission to preserve green space, the St. Charles County Parks Department will design Broemmelsiek Park as a passive recreation area focused on the natural features of the land. The 384 acre property features several lakes, a blend of oak-hickory forest and rolling pastures suitable for a variety of recreation activities and park amenities.
Hideaway Harbor Park This 49-acre park is what we classify as a Unique Park Site. The views from this park across the Mississippi River and towards the Great River Road are spectacular. St. Charles County acquired this site as flood buy-out property following the flood of 1993. Prior to 1993 it was an operating harbor with docks, boat ramps, fishing lake, and rest rooms. The site includes natural wetlands, forested areas and Weber Lake.
Quail Ridge Park This 250-acre park preserves a natural setting where, deer hide along the edge of woodlands, and trails wind through the deep woods and along Peruque creek. Amenities include picnic pavilions, a playground, a Frisbee disc golf course, hiking trails, a children’s fishing pond, a 3 acre lake, wetlands area, and meeting lodge.
Klondike Park Klondike Park is a 250-acre park that lies adjacent to Highway 94, the Katy Trail and the Missouri River. The Klondike Park site has, in the past, been heavily disturbed by quarry operations and is a study of nature's resiliency. The Master Plan for this includes: camper cabins, a retreat/conference center, fishing lake, boat ramp to the Missouri River, natural areas, primitive campsites, biking and hiking trails, access to the Katy Trail, picnic areas, playground area, and observation areas with tremendous views of the Missouri River, surrounding forests and farmland in St. Louis and Franklin counties.
Matson Hill Park Matson Hill Park is a 68.5-acre park. Acquired by the County in 1975, this park's topography is rugged wooded hills with intermittent draws or valleys. Located within the Daniel Boone Historic District, the park is reminiscent of the area during Boone's life. In fact, it is possible that Daniel Boone walked within the park's boundaries during some of his many journeys. This park provides a unique recreational opportunity for nature lovers or those wanting to escape into a heavily forested landscape. Matson Hill park offers a rugged 3 mile single track trail that follows the contours of the land, crosses creeks and passes by many natural features .Designated for hike and bike use only, the Matson Hill Trail is an intermediate trail that offers a new challenge around every corner. There is no designated direction of travel so going both ways offers a 6 mile ride/hike to trail users.
Indian Camp Creek Park Located in northwestern St. Charles County, Indian Camp Creek Park is a 520-acre park. The park’s main features include Indian Camp Creek, which runs through the park, and Big Creek, which runs along the North border of the park property. The park site was homesteaded in the 1800's as evidenced by a family cemetery located within the park boundaries.
Towne Park This 109-acre site has a rich history. Master planning will begin in 2004. The Towne Park, formerly known as the "Pink Plantation," was recently donated by the late Mrs. Betty Towne.
